Piece of culture, specifically tantra line of buddhism.
Good place but cold place

If you are traveling in Mongolia, this is one of the place you must see in town. You may find historical and art exhibits which I think precious in our history. Really glad that this site left as it is until today.
Amazing place
A traditional Buddhist temple with literally no single person walk in.The hell painting inside is pretty scary. Sadly to see the place become real historic site or tourist site which no use in community anymore.
Beautiful place. A must see
Its ancient building.
You can see the dynamic of historical building and modern buildings there. one of the should-visit places in UB.
Currently being restored. I really enjoyed my walk around this little complex, which is now being overshadowed by large several stories high modern buildings
Amazing temple with rich history among high risers!
Beautiful historical place in Ulaanbaatar. It.s close to our office
Closed AGAIN- very erratic hours which aren't posted. Great history but closed more often than not. I've tried 6 times in 18 months, weekdays and weekends, no luck.
One of the historical places in UB that you should visit
The place is amazing but the camera fee to take pictures is ridiculously expensive
Right in the heart of city, this is a perfect museum/temple to explore. It’s only a fragment of the great Khan dynasty that used to exist but it’s amazing to observe the architecture from so many different cultures that once belonged to this empire. Small entry fee and amazing costume collection also
The workers here were all very nice and polite and escorted us from building to building. They were able to answer our questions and were extremely hospitable. Thank you!
Very interesting, good gift shop
Temple is located just behind the main square. There are around 5 smaler temples on the territory of the museum. It doesn't take long to check everything there. Also, get into gifts shop - they have some good handmade stuff.
Totally overwhelmed with the sculptures and art here
Looks quite run-down. Costs 8000T/pax to enter and you need to pay extra for photos. Probably most interesting would be the personal chamber for the Lama’s “tantric exercises”.
Amazing Buddhist temple and museum of Buddhism in Mongolia. Worth visiting. Temperatures in winter are same as outside so don't expect warmth.
One of the must visit places in mongolia
A beautiful Mongolian temple built in traditional Tibetan Buddhism style. Well worth spending time in the main temple to see all of the wonderful pieces on display. You have to pay extra to take photos inside, which is a tad stupid, but you can sneak in the odd photo here & there. Make sure to look at the ceiling detail. Hell is depicted in one section.
Sadly not all is accessible but this was a true gem in the middle of a big and very eclectic city.
This temple looking so different and so beautiful
For tantra inspirations
Very warm environment
Very similar to the Bogd Khan museum from the outside but I found the display inside far better than the more well known Bogd Khan museum. It is sad that you have to pay a ridiculous fee of 50,000Tugruk to take photos inside besides the 8,000 Tugruk entrance fee.It is sad that this historical place has almost been swallowed by the skyscrapers around it. There is a very loud Karaoke bar next to it and it was hard to find a moment of peace inside with the loud music playing in the adjacent building(on a Saturday morning).Still a good place to visit if you have traveled half the globe to visit Mongolia. Behind the Blue Sky hotel building with a few coffee shops nearby.
Amazing place, crowded by Buddhist statues and artefakts. Unfortunately, the price for taking pictures is quite high; the ticket is 8000 Tugriks and for photographing 50000 (!)
An eccentric Buddhist spot surrounded with skyscrapers
Nice place
Very very special buddhist temple..
Amazing ancient place along skyscrapers. Definitely worth to see.
Sometimes one of the entrance is closed
Quaint museum in Central Ulaanbaatar. Not a lot of context available in English to explain what you're looking at, but lots of neat 19th century artifacts.
One of the greatest historical palace museum. If you're travelling to Mongolia and especially staying in UB must visit there.
Small but interesting Lamaist Buddhist temple for knowing the culture and history.
Magnificent temple and museum, a great example of Buddhist heritage of Mongolia. The traditional architecture and relics within make this temple worth the visit.
Good
Its a shame, its a cool looking old building but it looks like it is falljng apart.
A nice place for tourists to visit. Very informative and guides are available. Not too expensive for 8k entrance fee too. Would recommend!
Really beautiful temples, with a lot of colours and perfect items of art - for me, specially the masks! Really loved it!
One of the historical and beautiful place in the heart of UB city!
In the downtown, in the middle of skylines which seems like the symbol of simultaneously existence of the past and the future
Worth seeing, located in the middle of the city. Tourist friendly place, English translations of the boards were available. We got our names written in old Mongolian by a nice Mongolian guy.
The musem wonderfull history
Very peaceful place in the middle of a very busy city. Several temples to visit. The lady in the gift shop is very knowledgeable and has excellent English. Yes she will try to sell you stuff, but not at all pushy. Large selection of literature on Mongolian culture and history.
Unique museum
Very interesting place. Take your time visiting all buildings, it's worth. Main door at south side.
